(Cuba, 1993) Enrique Angel Cabrera is a Cuban artist who approaches his work as a constant act of observation, reconstructing phenomena within their spatial and material contexts. Drawing is central to his practice, serving as a means to explore surfaces, environments, and the elements that inhabit them. His ideas emerge directly from lived experience and engagement with the physical world around him.
Light and shadow play a vital role in Cabrera’s compositions, often inspired by fleeting patterns in his surroundings, such as sunlight passing through a window. These transient patterns fragment space and reveal its ever-changing forms, capturing the spirit of a place in motion and inviting viewers to experience the subtle transformations of the everyday.
