(Cuba, 1983) Claudio Cabrera completed an elective course in fashion design in Havana and spent over twelve years developing sketches for women’s clothing. In 2018, he designed the costumes for the Cuban contemporary dance production La Segunda Piel.
His graphic practice, particularly the long-running Kukitas series, explores eccentric garments with intricate constructions, merging baroque and manga influences with contemporary fashion design approaches.
In his paintings, Cabrera investigates the cultural intersections between Cuba and Russia, employing mythological and fantastical imagery to reveal shared symbols, narratives, and visual codes.
